Sometimes it is challenging to know if the book you select will be a good fit for the children you plan to read it to. What if it is too complex, has too many challenging words, or just isn’t relatable to the children? The Storybook Profile System was developed to help educators and parents make good book selections. It’s easy to use format will guide you to determine how difficult a book will be and what types of skills will be best taught while reading it. For example, some books are perfectly suited to give children extra practice recognizing narrative structures such as character, problem, actions, and endings. Some books are great for teaching new vocabulary words and enhancing comprehension. Others have important social emotional or math content. Use this free tool and select better books!
